Dearly loved wife of Gary for 44 years and cherished mother of Sherri (Lou), Debbie (Steve) and Bill. Dear sister of Peg (Mike) and Bob (Diane). Daughter of the late William and Irene MacNair. A devoted and loving grandmother to Chas, Victoria, Emma, Kayleigh, Lauren and Jacob. Much loved by many nieces, nephews, her extended family and friends. She was the anchor of our family and her joyous spirit will always be remembered. She dedicated over 25 years volunteering with Special Olympics as head coach and council member. PICHECA, Angelina (nee Del Rossi) On January 23, 2012, in her 75th year, Angelina left this world to be with the Lord. She passed away peacefully at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital with her cherished family at her side. Angie was devoted to her loving husband, Donato (Don) Picheca, for 48 years. She is predeceased by her father, Charlie (1998); mother, Annette (2010); brother, Joseph (1946); and sister, Marguerite Hunter (2003). Her daughters will miss her tremendously: Nancy Fornasiero (Mark) of Oakville, Donna Picheca (Saul Cordova), Christine Picheca of Toronto, and Lory Picheca (Jeremy Wilson) of Ottawa. She was loved dearly by her brother John Del Rossi (Isabel) and by her grandchildren, Robbie, Sam, Gabriel, Peter and Daniella, who were the sunshine of her golden years. Angie's laughter and joy will also be missed by her friends and family, especially her many in-laws, nieces and nephews. It might not seem right to characterize a whole life by the final years in which a person was ill; but in this case perhaps an exception can be made. Every difficulty Angie recently encountered was met with grace, patience, and unwavering courage. She worked hard, appreciated her blessings, and accepted everything with her special brand of quiet dignity mixed with super-human fortitude. That is how she handled every chapter of her life-whether the academic excellence of her youth, her successful marriage, the many years she helped build a thriving business alongside Don, and most importantly her tour de force: the family she raised and nurtured so lovingly. Her faith was always with her and she will forever be an inspiration to all who knew her. Friends will be received at the Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home, 96 West Street, Brantford on Thursday, January 26 from 3-5 pm (with parish prayers at 4:30 pm) and at 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford, on Friday, January 27 at 11 am. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery with reception to follow at St. Basil's Hall. Angie's family extends sincere thanks to a handful of compassionate women from Acclaim Health and HomeInstead who cared for her like she was family. In honour of Angie, and all individuals who cope daily with physical disabilities, please consider a donation to the March of Dimes. (www.marchofdimes.ca) Donations can also be made in her memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. (www.heartandstroke.on.ca) On line condolence may be made at www.thorpebrothersfh.com.
