Starting this past year, the Minor Oaks Hockey Association through its annual rep event, the Richard Bell Memorial Hockey Tournament has committed to a five year pledge with all net proceeds from the tournament benefitting equipment needs at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) and the New Oakville Hospital. The 2011 Richard Bell Memorial Hockey Tournament was the biggest yet! One hundred and fifty-eight teams from across North America and Europe descended on Oakville for the 19th annual tournament named after the long time Minor Oaks Hockey Association volunteer. Richard Bell Memorial Hockey Tournament Seeking Weekend Volunteers Do you have some spare time on the weekends to contribute to your local hospital? Oakville- Trafalgar Memorial Hospital has a variety of volunteer positions, directly assisting patients and families when visiting the hospital: Floor Service (4:00 p.m. ­ 6:00 p.m.) Assist patients and staff with meals and other activities on the nursing units. Emergency or ICU (various shifts, especially afternoons and early evenings) Provide comfort and liaise among patients, families and staff. Information Desk (Friday 4:00 p.m. ­ 8:00 p.m. and Sunday mornings or afternoons) Greet and direct people in person and by telephone.
