Fareshare Easter food drive wraps up April 7 As the holiday weekend approaches, the Fareshare food bank's Easter food drive is in its final days. While the food drive is yielding good results, Fareshare is encouraging residents to continue giving generously until Saturday April 7. The Easter food drive is usually one of the smaller drives during the year in terms of food collected but it could be one of the most important. The Easter food drive is the last large opportunity to fill the Fareshare shelves before the Thanksgiving season, meaning the supplies they receive now must last the summer. 3 · Wednesday, April 4, 2012 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com Inside Opinion............................................6 Artscene.........................................23 Sports.............................................25 Classified.......................................29 Full Delivery: Real Estate, Dell Computers, Jenkins Agency, St. Aidan's Anglican Church, JYSK, Rona, Shopping News Partial Delivery: Q.S.I., Sears, Premier Consumer Shows, Sheridan Nurseries, Home Depot, West of the City For home delivery & customer service call 905-845-9742 Mon., Tues. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed., Thu., and Fri. 9 a.m.-7 p.m. (open for calls only after 5 p.m.) Closed Sat. and Sun. "Easter is of particular concern because we to go six months afterward without a formal food drive." Fareshare is happy to receive any and all donations, however, right now certain items such as rice and No. 5 diapers are of particu- lar need. "While the public has been supporting us really well, when we look at certain items we have right now we can see that they might not last until Thanksgiving," said Bromberg. Residents can drop off donations at their local grocery stores and fire stations as well as at Fareshare on 1240 Speers Rd. between 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday to Saturday. While the food drive ends this Saturday, April 7, residents are still encouraged to continue donating when they can throughout the year. "We'll take donations anytime. The formal food drive does end, but we take donations year round," said Bromberg. Fareshare donation bins can also be found in most local supermarkets.
