Auto technicians get to work to rescue duckling By Dominik Kurek OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Fear not -- when trouble is near just call your friendly neighbourhood auto technician. That's what happened last week (May 4) when a boy discovered a duckling had fallen through the grating of a storm drain in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire store at Dundas Street and Trafalgar Road. Store owner Ken Bodner discovered the boy crying outside of his store last Friday and learned that three ducklings had separated from their mother and strayed through the parking lot. One of those ducklings then fell through the grate, however, the little bird would not be lost forever. Six technicians dropped their work fixing cars and went to work on saving ducks, their co-worker Raymond de Mello said. One technician went down the drain ladder where the duckling had fallen down. The others followed suit. Together, they searched the underground tunnels and managed to find the little creature at a dead end of the underground maze. The duckling was saved and reunited with its siblings and all were turned over to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society as their mother could not be located. The six technicians who were involved are: Frank Frutti, 38, Mike Bencak, 22, Mark Krpan, 33, and Chris Morris, 21, all of Oakville, and Brandon Capretta, 33, and Bobby Bhardwaj, 37, both from Burlington. 5 · Thursday, May 10, 2012 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com Free Quotes AMAZING RATES!
