Police said neighbours reported seeing flames around 2:20 a.m. The Oakville Fire Department extinguished the blaze, which is believed to have started inside the car. Police said the vehicle had been unattended and turned off for several days, a fact that leads them to believe the fire was deliberately set. "We don't think it was spontaneous combustion," said Detective Sergeant Mark Underwood, Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau. The car was destroyed, but no dollar value has been put to the damage. Tip: Hav l a rain sensor in instal Halton police are looking for a trio of suspects following a smash-and-grab robbery of Manning Fine Jewellery, at 125 Cross Ave., Wednesday evening. Police reported that around 6 p.m., three suspects wearing masks arrived at the store in an older model Pontiac. While one suspect waited in the car, the other two got out carrying baseball bats and attempted to enter the store. When they found the doors locked, police said, they smashed the display windows, reached inside, stole several pieces of jewelry and then fled. The total value of the stolen jewelry has not been disclosed. Police are looking for three black men in their late teens or early 20s.
