Fall/winter library registration opens Saturday B ring out the calendar and start planning your fall and winter with us. IRIS registration opens this Saturday (Aug. 18) at 9 a.m., and lasts until halfway through each course start date. We've got programs for a myriad of interests and ages -- here's a look at some of our featured programs: Adult Book Clubs Want to discuss interesting books with interesting people? Join one of our book clubs and experience discussions led by our team of knowledgeable librarians. The sessions run once a month from October to April, excluding December. Books are provided for borrowing; sessions are for readers ages 18 and up. Hesitant to make a six month commitment? Event will run from 7-8:30 p.m. Genealogy Workshop Series Reach down to your roots and learn the lives of your ancestors before you. Science Kids Give your kids the chance to create their own simple science experiments and see the amazing results. This un-parented, handson program is a fun first experience with the magic of science for children threefive years old. Active Chefs Bring out the culinary master in your child. Our Active Chefs series is open to children aged sixeight for Thanksgiving Cooking, and nine-12 for Seasonal Celebrations, where they will make and taste multicultural dishes for fall or winter, and learn about food traditions and holiday facts from around the world.
