United Way Oakville, in partnership with Greentec's E-Waste Collection, wants to collect unwanted electronics -- those desktop and laptop computers, cellphones, ink/toner cartridges, printers and stereo equipment that are cluttering offices, drawers, basements and garages. Unwanted electronics can be recycled responsibly with proceeds going directly to United Way Oakville-funded agencies. Construction begins at Bronte and Dundas Street Oakville motorists will need to give themselves some extra time in their commutes as construction of a new watermain across the intersection at Dundas Street and Bronte Road will start Monday (Sept. 17). The intersection will not be closed, however, drivers should expect delays -- the work will be completed during off-peak traffic hours and on weekends to minimize the disruption to motorists. The work is part of a larger watermain installation project stretching from Appleby Line in Burlington to Bronte Road. The intersection work at Dundas and Bronte will continue into the fall and is being co-ordinated with other infrastructure projects further east on Dundas Street. The project is part of Building a Better Halton, the Region's infrastructure construction plan for roads, water, wastewater and waste management projects.
