WEST presents Looking Literary Cafe season starts Sunday at The Oakville Centre Readers should register for guaranteed spot, open mic available West End Studio Theatre is opening this year's Oakville Drama Series with a production of Looking that opens tomorrow (Thursday). The comedy was written by Canadian playwright Norm Foster. It is about a group of single, middle-aged people looking for that someone. In the story, Val agrees to meet Andy after answering his personal ad in the paper. Their friends, Nina and Matt, are coaxed to joining them for support. The tale is meant to be funny, touching and true to life. The Oakville Drama Series is a collaboration by three of Oakville's community theatre companies who present several shows at The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts through the season that runs from late summer/early fall to spring of the following year. Looking runs at The Centre from Sept. 13-15 and Sept. 19-22 with shows at 8 p.m. and a 2 p.m. showing on Sept. 16. Evening tickets cost $28 and the matinee tickets cost $20. There are student and senior discounts available. For tickets, visit www. oakvillecentre.ca. Oakville's Literary Café is starting back up for the new season on Sunday (Sept. 16) and organizers are looking for poetry and prose readers. The monthly events take place at the Moonshine Café. The opening event will feature guest reader Robert Colman, a Newmarket writer who has been published in literary magazines across Canada. His first full-length collection of poems, The Delicate Line, was nominated for a ReLit Award. The events are free to everyone. The organizers encourage members of the public to bring their prose and poetry to share. Anyone wanting a guaranteed spot at an event, should contact Ivy Reiss at ivy_reiss@hotmail.com or Brandon Pitts at bp@brandonpitts. com. The events also feature open mic sessions. Each literary café runs from noon to 2 p.m. Following the September date, future events are scheduled for Nov. 18 (prose), Feb. 17 (poetry and prose), April 21 (poetry: part of Poetry Month), and June 23 (poetry and prose). These four tips will help ensure that your face maintains its natural glow as we transition into the harsher, colder months. Add moisture to your routine: The fall months are less humid than their summer counterparts, so adding more moisture to your skin care regime is important. As the air gets dryer use a richer, thicker moisturizer such as Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer to give back to your skin. Use sensitive skin care products: Even if you don't have sensitive skin, when the weather changes from warm to cold everyone's skin could use a gentler skin care approach. You might notice that your face is more prone to redness and flushing as the wind picks up and the temperature drops. Environmental changes can often bring on skin sensitivities, so be kind to your skin and use products that are designed with this in mind. Maintain the SPF: Don't be fooled - the sun is still shining even though summer has come to a close. Make sure you keep SPF in your skin care regime as it will continue to help protect your skin and help fight the signs of aging, such as wrinkles look for a moisturizer with a broadspectrum SPF. Face, Neck and Hands: Your face isn't the only part of your body that beauty & spa can benefit from your skincare regime, so can your neck and hands. This is particularly true in the fall as these delicate parts of your body are most exposed to the cooler, crisper air.
