Halton police said it was approximately 10:40 a.m. when a masked man entered the bank, allegedly brandishing a firearm as he approached the tellers. Police allege the suspect demanded cash from the staff with the firearm pointed at them. The tellers complied and provided the robber with an undisclosed amount of money. He then fled on foot. Police said witnesses reported seeing the individual running towards the railway tracks north of the Royal Bank. He was then seen running westbound directly on the tracks.
