Police said the two armed suspects forced the employees into the bank vault then filled a duffle bag with cash and fled on foot. Police believe the same individuals are responsible for similar robberies, which took place in Peel on Sept. 12, 2011, Hamilton on Oct. 16 and Waterloo on Nov. 1. "To assist with this investigation and demonstrate the seriousness of these crimes, the Canadian Bankers Association and the banking industry in Canada are announcing a reward of up to $100,000 for any public information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for these four violent bank robberies," said Malcolm Chivers, Manager of Fraud and Security at the Canadian Bankers Association. "Bank robberies are a serious issue facing the banking industry, but they are first and foremost a personal crime, not an economic crime. Our industry's priority is ensuring bank customers feel comfortable and secure conducting their business in a branch and that the bank staff in those branches have a safe work environment."
