The Renaissance Christmas concert at Grace Lutheran Church will feature timeless Christmas harmonies and melodies to help people lose themselves in the holiday season. Hansel and Gretel is one of two children's shows the Xstrata tour is performing throughout Ontario schools this month. The other show is The Brothers Grimm by Dean Burry, in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the collected fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm. Christian Martyn's Home Alone airs Sunday The next film in the Home Alone movie franchise will get its premiere on Sunday (Nov. 25) as part of ABC's 25 Days of Christmas. The film, starring Oakville's Christian Martyn, will air on ABC Spark in Canada. This is the fifth installment of the Home Alone series. In this film, Home Alone: The Holiday Heist, Finn (Martyn) becomes aware three thieves are planning to break into his family's home, an old, creaky house, which the Baxters recently moved into. It is believed the basement is full of valuables. In true Home Alone fashion, a series of hijinks follows as Finn sets traps for the robbers. The film will air at 8 p.m. This past summer, Martyn filmed a leading role alongside Brendan Fraser, Dominic Purcell and Ethan Suplee for the film Split Decision. He also filmed a Hallmark TV movie called Be My Valentine, starring Billy Baldwin, which is expected to air around the upcoming Valentine's Day. The opening reception for Tradition in Transition is on Sunday. The exhibit, curated by Sandra Reford, features traditional quilts and showcases the development of the technique in contemporary works. The 35 pieces in the show were selected from across Canada.
