Scotiabank cash to new hospital's mental health program Scotiabank recently donated $500,000 to the Oakville Hospital Foundation in support of the new hospital's mental health program. "Healthcare is an important focus of our giving and we are pleased to invest in this important new mental health program that will support individuals and their families," Oliver Uppal, Scotiabank district vice-president of GTA, Mississauga and Oakville, said in a press release. The mental health program at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) provides a range of inpatient, outpatient and outreach services to adults, as well as inpatient services to children and adolescents. In recognition of the donation, the Adult Mental Health Outpatient Day Program at the new hospital facility will be named in honour of Scotiabank. "The Scotiabank Adult Outpatient Mental Health Centre will provide a comprehensive continuum of care of mental health services to adults and their families," Dr. Alan Brown, medical director of the Halton Healthcare Services' mental health program, said. "The services housed in the Adult Outpatient Mental Health Centre will include, but not be limited to an outpatient psychiatric clinic, a psychogeriatric clinic, an eating disorders program, and an outpatient medication clinic." Many patients are acutely ill, yet continue to live at home while receiving treatment.
