Listen to and sing-along with children's choir for Christmas The Oakville Children's Choir (OCC) is inviting the community to come out and listen to some beloved holiday classics when they perform at a couple public concerts. The first concert is this Saturday, (Dec. 8), and the second, which includes an audience sing-along, is on the following Saturday. The Dec. 8 show, titled Go Tell It On The Mountain, features gospel and holiday favourites. The concert is also the season-opener for the OCC. At this concert, the OCC will debut its new choir, A Few Good Men, a choir for boys with changed voices. Furthermore, the concert will include a performance by guest artist Alana Bridgewater, who has appeared on stage in We Will Rock You and on television on Dino Dan. The concert is at St. John's United Church, 262 Randall St., beginning at 7 p.m. The Dec. 15 show, titled Community Carol Concert, features carols, hymns and an audience sing-along. The OCC will be joined on stage by the ErinoakKids Glee Club and Andrei Streliaev. The concert will take place at St. Paul's United Church, 454 Rebecca St., and begins at 3 p.m. Advance tickets cost $25 for adults or $15 for seniors and children for either concert. The Believe concert will be at The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on Thursday, Dec. 20. It is being put on by Grace Academy of Dance and Performing Arts and Spurrell Singing Studio. Winter exhibit opens at Oakville Galleries It seems the people at Oakville Galleries have taken a look in the mirror to decide the theme of their upcoming exhibit. The exhibit opens on Sunday (Dec. 9). Oakville Galleries operates two distinct gallery spaces, one located inside a public library and the other inside a former private home. For the upcoming show, titled Where I Lived, and What I Lived For, the galleries will explore the realms of the domestic and the literary. There is an opening ceremony for the twopart exhibit on Sunday. From 2:30-3:30 p.m., people are invited to come out to the Centennial Square gallery, located inside the Central branch library at 120 Navy St. This will be followed by a reception at the Gairloch Gardens location at 1306 Lakeshore Rd.
