Estel had a full and interesting life which began in England. She was married at 19 years old and widowed at a young age. Through connections with the British Council, God sent the gift of Ming into Estel's life. He was a college graduate in England studying Mechanical Engineering and soon returning to Malaysia. Trusting God's perfect plan, Estel followed her heart and left England to marry Ming on Jan 28, 1966. In 1971, with two young daughters, Estel and Ming came to Canada to start another chapter of their journey together. Estel will be fondly remembered by many for her loving service of her Lord and Saviour through the church, the community, and Christian Women's Clubs. She loved to entertain in her home and was always interested in being involved with people. She enjoyed being creative, watching birds, fashion, travelling, and spending time with family. Estel has taught many people the value of helping each other as she led by example. Estel suffered a heart attack on Dec. 30, 2012 and had heart surgery to replace a leaking aortic valve on Jan. 7, 2013. Complications arose that prevented her recovery. She left this world peacefully on January 28, 2013 with family and angels surrounding her. Estel will be deeply missed by Ming, Katharine, Geraldine (spouse Ken), grandsons Robert (24) and Matthew (8), extended family and friends in Canada, San Francisco, England, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia. l Obituaries CROLL, James B.L.
