Carr, who has been the Regional chair since 2006, said he's surprised and honoured to receive the recognition. "Having the privilege of serving at all three levels of government, on behalf of our great com- munity, an honour such as this is just icing on the cake," he said in a media release. "Being able to live and work in such a fine region is a reward in itself." Moyle, who has since retired from his post, said he feels humbled by the Pat Moyle honour. "I cannot think of a more fitting way to end a fantastic career in public service," he said in the release. Carr and Moyle join about 60,000 Canadians who have received the medal to honour their significant contributions and achievements.
