The event, which runs from 7 p.m. until closing, features an unlimited buffet dinner, raffle items, a silent auction, door prizes, live bands and Irish Step Dancers. The cost of attending is $20 with proceeds going to the Dog Rescuers Inc. The non-profit Oakville-based organization rescues and re-homes dogs who have been abused and abandoned or whose owners have suffered a change in their personal life and can no longer keep them. "We save (more than) 100 dogs every year. We work with 21 shelters and towns across Ontario," said Joan Znidarec, co-founder of the Dog Rescuers Inc. "We entered this year carrying (in a) high debt load. Last year was really bad as far as medical cases were concerned.
