The event raises funds for The Angel Project, which benefits patients who have been hospitalized for 10 years or more, and rarely receive any visitors or are too sick to be moved to a nursing home, according to the organization's website. "One hundred per cent of our donations reach and impact these patients directly and make a direct impact on the life of these people," states the website. "We organize outings, for some who have not been outside for years, donate cash for the latest in technological equipment, and most of all, we give back a sense of humanity through personal interaction and the acknowledgment of basic human value." The Angel Project has no paid staff or administrative overhead and is operated by volunteers. This year's event will be held at Chelster Hall, 1150 Lakeshore Rd. E., on Saturday, July 20 from 6-9:30 p.m. The Gold Angel ticket, at a cost of $150, includes admission to the event, food and beverages, entertainment -- including the fashion show, a silent auction, raffle, and celebrity guests, among other treats. The Platinum Angel VIP ticket, at a cost of $500, provides a limited number of guests special access to designated VIP areas of Chelster Hall and includes a swag bag, on-site parking and guests will be served a special premium brand of whisky.
