www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Wednesday, May 22, 2013 | 18 Canadian Open to support Ronald McDonald House Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada has been selected as the charity partner for this year's RBC Canadian Open golf tournament, which will be held July 22-28 at Oakville's Glen Abbey Golf Club. RBC and Golf Canada made the announcement yesterday (Tuesday) at a media event at Ronald McDonald House Toronto, one of 14 houses across the country that provide families of seriously ill or injured children a home away from home while their child is being treated at a nearby hospital. Since coming on board as title sponsor of the RBC Canadian Open in 2008, RBC has teamed with Golf Canada to raise more than $5 million for charitable organizations across Canada that support children's wellness initiatives. Throughout its history, Canada's national open championship has generated more than $45 million in charitable proceeds for important causes. This year marks the 26th time that Jack Nicklaus-designed Glen Abbey is hosting the Canadian Open tournament.
