Which is how I came to once again find myself cycling. Up a hill. On a route my wife assured would be "great fun." Now, I don't want to exaggerate, but this alleged hill was more like a mountain -- so steep, so twisting and turning, so daunting, there were sherpas at the bottom offering to help us navigate to the top. We shunned the sherpas. Halfway up this killer Kilimanjaro, gravity beat us. We got off our bikes and walk-crawled the rest of the way up, battling altitude sickness, nosebleeds and delirium along the way. Once at the summit, my wife suggested (contrary to logic and common sense) we continue on. Honestly, I didn't really know where we were at that point, but it felt like we'd biked to Innsbruck, Austria. As I reminisced about how I'd dreamed my Sunday would be a day of utter and complete rest, we came to a sign trumpeting our arrival in... Aberfoyle, Ont. Ah, I thought, Aberfoyled again. Crazy, eh?
