Thousands believed to be victims continued from p.1 Police were eventually able to trace the companies and the websites, and on Monday April 29, executed search warrants at five locations, including two in Toronto, two in Oakville and another in Burlington. Three people were arrested. At 2530 Speers Rd., investigators seized an abundance of equipment, 13,000 allegedly counterfeit DVDs and $19,000 in cash. At that time, three men were charged with defrauding the public, passing off, laundering proceeds of crime, possession of proceeds of crime, and participating in a criminal organization, including: Colin Wood, 33, of Oakville; Martin Juchniewicz, 33, of Toronto; and Nicholas Rogers, 46, of Burlington. As part of a continuing investigation, Halton police announced Wednesday two additional arrests. John Dewolfe, 29, and Paul Juchniewicz, 32, both of Mississauga, have been charged with defrauding the public and participating in a criminal organization. Police are continuing to look at how the operation functioned and how alleged friends, acquaintances and business associates of some of those involved were convinced to open up business accounts to allow the suspects to operate the DVD sites and collect the money from the online sales. Police said many of these participants may not have been aware of what they were becoming involved in and investigators are encouraging these individuals to contact Det. Sgt. John Mans at 905-825-4747, ext. 8760. Celebrating Old Oakville at Erchless The Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton is hosting an event to celebrate historic Oakville -- for a good cause. The TriDelta Alzheimer's Gathering is open to local seniors, friends and family and will include an old-fashioned day of music, Irish dance, entertainment, refreshments, and raffles by the lake under the giant oak trees at Erchless Estate. Many heritage sites in downtown Oakville will be opening their doors for the event. The fundraiser will take place at the 8 Navy St. S. estate on June 23 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. To register or for more information, visit www.tridelta.ca. Proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets will support the local Alzheimer Society. 3 | Friday, June 7, 2013 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com VISIT OUR Open House on THURSDAY, JUNE 20 inside today's Editorial Sports Beaver www.insideHALTON.com AT HSC, LEARNING HAPPENS NATURALLY.
