Also, this time around, admission is free. The festival will feature a cross section of music styles on its main stage with a lineup of 16 acts from Friday to Sunday (Aug. 2-4). "We really like it. We're very happy with it," said Bill Smith chair of Celebrate Oakville, which is organizing the event. "It's kind of a departure from the old festival where it was more straight-ahead pop or rock and we might have had classic rock on the Friday night. This one, we've really tried to be more diverse. A lot of the bands would be referred to as alternative-country. We never really had country before, but that's very popular these days." The festival will run the Civic Holiday long weekend at Coronation Park, located on the shores of Lake Ontario. The event had been on hiatus since 2009, after an 18-year run, due to nancial reasons. Now, organizers are hoping to draw between 25,000-50,000 visitors. Names of some of the performers for the festival were released last week while the remainder is expected to be announced later this week.
