Forestry crews have been out since Friday at 6-6:30 p.m., when the windstorm came through and we started receiving the first of the calls. So we worked throughout Friday night dealing with different types of storm calls," said Chris Mark, director of Parks and Open Space with the Town of Oakville on Monday. "That continued into Saturday and Sunday in terms of clean up. We really haven't stopped except for a few hours on Saturday night and Sunday night to give our crews some rest. We've really been going at it pretty much steadily since Friday." Mark said the storm heavily damaged numerous trees in the heritage area of Downtown Oakville, southeast Oakville and the Kerr Street area. Between Friday night and Monday afternoon, Mark said the Town of Oakville received 235 service requests including 86 on Monday alone. "Our job over the weekend was to make everything safe. Now we're going back again and cleaning up and doing a fair number of takedowns. If you drive around town you will see there are a number of trees that have been damaged and have an `X' on them.
