Young stars share knowledge that they did," said Tricia McLeod, Nathan's older sister, who manages Innovative Acting. "The festival went really well," said Tricia. "We heard such amazing feedback from everyone, saying they had a great time and can't wait to come back next year." Beauty & Spa Rainbow Expressions is back home Having moved her salon back to Bronte, Donna Lee feels she has come home. For all but ve of the past 27 years, Donna has operated Rainbow Expressions in the west end of town and she is happy to be back in the harbour community. Donna and her mother Mary Milford launched the salon in 1986 and through "pure stubbornness and determination" and with a great staff, Rainbow Expressions has thrived over almost three decades. Some stylists and many of her clients have been with her throughout the entire journey. Rainbow Expressions offers complete hair care for the whole family, as well as makeup and facial waxing services. Every customer gets personalized attention. Donna has a 13-year career path for stylists and has taught many over the years. Once a stylist reaches the Level 4A, he or she then begins to train a new stylist, a process that helps the beginner develop quicker and with more con dence. Wanting to keep current with styling trends, every technician at Rainbow Expressions takes a minimum of three techniques and fashion courses each year. Giving back to the community is very important to Donna and her staff and for the past two years Rainbow Expressions has volunteered at the Diva Night fundraiser. For several years, staff participated in Relay for Life raising more than $20,000 for the cause. One year, staff hosted a fashion show and raised $23,000 for one of their own, an employee who lost her husband. In 2010, they raised $35,000 for the Sick Kids Oncology department at their Zoe is a Rock Star night. All this would not be possible without their amazing clientele and community. The setting is fresh and current, the nine stylists "love doing hair" and personal maintenance instructions and advice are always complimentary. Rainbow Expressions is located at 129 Jones Street. Salon hours are Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 905-847-1110 or email rainbowexpressions@cogeco.net.
