Woman charged with stunt driving Bus pull to kick off Oakville's annual by David Lea Oakville Beaver Staff 3 | Wednesday, September 4, 2013 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com A 23-year-old Oakville woman is facing a charge of stunt driving after police clocked her vehicle travelling 119 kilometres per hour in a 60 km/h zone Sunday. Around 5 p.m., Halton police were doing radar enforcement on Dundas Street at Lions Valley Park when officers spotted a vehicle moving at a high speed. As an officer attempted to flag the vehicle over, police allege the driver accelerated and swerved, forcing the officer to jump out of the way. The driver then fled the area, but was located a short time later by Halton police. The Oakville resident -- who has not been named -- has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and stunt driving. The vehicle was impounded for seven days. The Safer Roads for a Safer Ontario Act (Bill 203) has been in effect since 2007 and includes tough measures for those who choose to race and drive aggressively on Ontario's roads.
