- Full Text
MCLEOD, Victoria Odette (nee Totton) Passed peacefully on October 6 with family at her side in Oakville, Ontario at the age of 91. Predeceased by beloved husband Lloyd, parents Charles and Lena Totton and sister Odile Fast. Odette was a dear mother to Roger, Richard, Carole and Glen, grandma of Mason and Laura and great grandma of Charlie. Graduate of University of Alberta with a BSc, Odette was a chemist in the early years of Dow Chemical in Sarnia before marrying Lloyd, also a UA chemist. A wartime stint in Chalk River, 5 years in Ottawa, family years in Sarnia and finally Oakville in 1971 where decades of volunteering and a scholastic upgrade at Sheridan College spawned Odette Associates which took her around Ontario for 10 years as a freelance social consultant. Active in Bloor Street Church and later Oakville's Maple Grove, Odette shared pride with co-founders of the Caring Team, praised by Rev. Morar as "one of the most important achievements at Maple Grove in 15 years". Active in curling, golf and other sports, Odette's life was as full as it was long. She will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers and condolences, donations may be sent to the Parkinson Society Canada.
