Union Gas renews commitment to Children's Safety Village Union Gas continued its commitment to Oakville's Police Safety Village Wednesday with announcement of new funding. The company revealed a $5,000 donation toward the development and enhancement of the Safety Village's programs, which are dedicated to teaching children the importance of safety. Mark Egbedeyi-Emmanuel, Union Gas district manager for Hamilton/Halton, attended the village, on a 1.5-acre site adjacent to police headquarters, and presented the donation to Deputy Chief of Police Bob Percy and Cindy Lawrence, the co-ordinator of the village programs. "Safety is a core company value and part of everything we do. That includes investing in programs that will help make our communities safer 24/7," said Egbedeyi-Emmanuel. "That's why we make it a priority to support important safety programs like this one, which is helping save lives in our community." In recent years, Union Gas has given more than $35,000 to the Children's Safety Village. Police said these funds have enabled Lawrence to help upgrade current equipment, technologies, audio and visual aids to assist with teaching children about safety.
