www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, January 30, 2014 | 4 continued from p.1 A day later, a tip was sent to the Beaver by Angela Ellis, webmaster for the North American Missing Persons Network, and directed attention to two Facebook profiles, which Ellis believed could be Tucker and Stonehouse. The two women shown in the profiles are Facebook friends. They have different surnames. Both live outside of Ontario. Ellis said she had provided the lead to police more than a year ago, but had not heard back from them. It went to the OPP and then Missing persons' cases remain open: police on to Halton police. The Beaver forwarded the tip to police and MissingKids.ca, which had worked with Tucker's family, police and the Beaver to do the Jan. 22 story. MissingKids.ca confirmed it passes information to police, but does not expect or require feedback from police. On Tuesday, police confirmed the information had been investigated previously, but that it would be again. Meanwhile, the Beaver also contacted the Darlene Tucker women. Both responded to the newspaper that they were not the women listed as missing. Martin said if police locate anyone currently listed as missing, their file would be closed and their photo removed from the Halton police website. The missing persons' cases remain open. Tucker fled her Lakeshore Road West home on Valentine's Day 1983, following an argument with her mother. She never returned. Martin said the police file indicates Tucker -- after dis- Jan Stonehouse covering she was pregnant -- left home and moved in with her boyfriend in town, but was reported missing about a week later by her boyfriend's father when she did not return there. Tucker was in Grade 10 at the former General Wolfe High School on McCraney Street. Police said there were phone calls placed to her mother a month later and confirmed sightings of Tucker with Stonehouse as late as 1987 in the Huntsville, Ont. area. According to police, Stonehouse ran away from her Elm Road home around the same today or call toll free 1-866-794-3574 www.lipitor.ca Visit time, was also believed to be pregnant and was reported missing on Aug. 8, 1983. Investigators are convinced the disappearances are linked, said Martin, however, the officer said he does not believe the teens met with foul play. "They left of their own free will and they were of legal age to do so," said Martin. Tucker is described as white with blue/hazel eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was 5-foot-4, 119 lbs., and had dark brown, shoulderlength hair. She had a prominent gap between her two front teeth and had a skin allergy on her hands, which caused them to break out in blisters. Stonehouse was described as white, medium build, with green eyes and wavy, shoulder-length, blonde hair. She was about 5-foot-4 and 110 lbs. at the time of her disappearance.
