Both the Golden Horseshoe and Hamilton Speed Skating clubs are hosting the Western Regional Short Track meet, with events beind held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on the Family Day holiday. Organizers hope the exposure speed skating receives during next month's Olympics will encourage spectators to witness the sport live at the meet.
