Jim was born on April 10, 1940 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, to George and Mary Williams. He was the much-loved husband of Helga (nee Decker), father of Tracey and Glenn (Jennifer McDermid) and grandfather of Kaden James and Quinn Lea. Jim was a loyal brother to Carol, Vi (Lloyd), Elsie (Don) and the late Edna (Vern) and Gordon (Elsa) and brother-in-law to Carlo, Ingrid (Lou) and Vic (Heather). He will be missed by his nieces and nephews and many friends. Jim worked in sales and marketing for Rehau Industries and as an auto industry consultant. He was an avid reader who consumed several newspapers a day and made frequent visits to his local library. Jim passed on this love of reading to his daughter and was the greatest supporter of her writing and passion for travel. Jim was also a superb chef who loved preparing elaborate meals for family and friends. He shared this talent for and joy of cooking with his son. Jim was a devoted husband and best friend to Helga, who repaid this love after Jim suffered a devastating accident in January 2000 that left him with a traumatic brain injury, hospitalized for almost two years and confined to a wheelchair. Overcoming staggering odds, Jim constantly amazed his doctors - in the recent words of one such doctor: changing how he sees all of his patients now. Despite the difficulties Jim encountered in his final days, his beloved grandchildren were a constant source of joy for him. The pictures of Kaden and Quinn that covered his hospital room walls always brought a light to his eyes. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of OTMH for their kindness and care. A private family memorial will take place in April. l Obituaries JEFFREY, Mary (Mae) Christina 18 November 1918 - 21 February 2014 Passed away peacefully on February 21, 2014, after a long hospitalization at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Oakville.
