Chamber of Commerce is on the move The O akville Cham ber of Commerce is relocating its office to 2525 Wyecroft Rd. effective May 1. The new space -- which is o f com parable size to the current office on Country Squire Lane -- will be located in a building situated between the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites and the Oakville Conference Centre. "We're really excited about this move," said Chamber executive direc tor Laura Babcock. The newly renovated office is wheel chair accessible and includes presti gious decor and ample parking. Babcock explained that its location also makes access easy for GO train users and commuters off the QEW. With the Holiday Inn next door, Babcock said Chamber members and guests will also have quick access to the hotel's bar and restaurant to socialize or for business meetings. Despite the proximity to the Holiday Inn, the Chamber plans to support its member hotels by continuing to hold its many events at a variety o f locations throughout Oakville. The current Country Squire Lane site has been earmarked for a reconstructed Kerr Street ramp at some point in the future, but Babcock said the Chamber decided to be proactive and start the process of finding a new location. "The new site is a first class facility," she said. Babcock has apologized in advance for any interruption or delays in service that may arise during the Chamber's move during the last week of April and the first week in May. The grand opening ceremony and reception for the new office takes place Tuesday. June 18 from 5-7 p.m. This event will include a ribbon-cutting, tours and a networking reception with food and beverages at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites.
