Home burglary nets thieves $272,000 in valuables Halton Regional Police are investigat ing a major burglary of a Shoreline resi dence on March 11 while the owners were on vacation. Police report a closet safe containing $22,000 in cash ,, n m n and five credit cards were stolen in addi tion to 50 pairs IIF of earrings and m m two rings worth on $250,000. 825-TIPS or 1-800-668-5151 The victims were away on a family vacation and had asked neighbours to watch over the house and feed their cat. The day before the burglary, the neigh bours had been in the house to feed the cat. When they left they closed the master bedroom door and activated the alarm. The neighbours returned the next morning and discovered a foyer cabinet open, three glass vases shattered and pho tograph envelopes scattered about. When they went upstairs they found the master bedroom door open. There was shattered glass all over the bathroom floor from a skylight, which had been broken to gain entry. The victim's closet had been ran sacked and a safe containing the family's valuables and cash stolen. Police believe the thieves left through a patio door in the basement. The rest of the residence was left undisturbed. If you have any information that leads to an arrest in this or any other matter, you may be eligible for a cash reward.
