Editor in Chief appointed for Haiton Division of Metroland Ian Oliver, Publisher for Haiton Division and VicePresident of Metroland Printing & Publishing Ltd., has appointed Jill Davis as Editor in Chief of the Haiton Division Newspapers. Davis, who has been Editor in Chief o f the Burlington Post for the past nine years, now will also be responsible for the editorial departments of The Oakville Beaver, Milton Canadian Champion and Flamborough Post. "I'm really looking forward to this new and challenging opportunity," said Davis, who will have offices at both the Beaver and Burlington Post. "I grew up in Burlington and Oakville and have lived in Haiton all my life, and, therefore, feel very passionate towards the communities. 1 strongly believe our newspapers are the voice of Haiton and I will ensure they continue to provide the excellent coverage our readers and advertisers have come to expect." Davis, 41, is a graduate of the journalism program at Sheridan College in Oakville, and prior to joining the Burlington Post held the position of Editor at the Brampton Guardian, a sister publication. "Jill's appointment provides a wonderful opportunity for her and our editorial departments to provide more informa tive and entertaining newspapers to the residents of Oakville," said Oliver. Anyone who wants to access the statements can find them on the school board's website by visiting www.haltondsb.on.ca. This marks the fifth straight year, the school board has pub lished its financial statements electronically. However, the statements are also available to residents with out Internet access. The 2001 audited financial statements include: die auditor's report; balance sheet; capital fund statement of operations; revenue fund statement o f oper ations; reserves and reserve fund statement of continuity; statement of trust funds admin istered by the board; and, notes to the financial statements. Residents who don't have Internet access, can have the statements mailed to them by calling the Business Services Department at 905-335-3663, ext. 3261 or can pick up the statements at the school board headquarters, the J.W.
