Suddenly on March 5, 2002 in Oakville at the age of 81. Peter is survived by his beloved wife Marion (nee Piper). He w as the proud father of Peter (Audrey) and David (Karen) and will be fondly rem em bered by grandchildren Elaine, Scott, Tracy and Lori. Predeceased by his brother Dudley of England. He will be sadly missed by numerous relatives, friends and associates. Peter was bom in London, England, on M arch 17, 1920. He w as a le a d e r in life and b u s in e s s . F o llo w in g distinguished service in the British 8th Army in WWII, rising to the rank of Captain, he led a full and interesting life in the Middle East and South Am erica, eventually settling in Canada. Instrumental in founding C A F O Inc. in C a n a d a and w e ll know n in the insurance industry, he retired in 1985 as Senior Vice President and General Manager after a 30 year career with the firm. After retirement, he continued his involvement in b u s in e ss as a consultant for G reenw ich Associates. Peter enjoyed serving on the executive of num erous clubs, boards and associations, including The Oakville Club, the Granary Board and the Probus Club of Old Oakville. He was always sociable and was passionate about all of his endeavours. Friends and family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville (905-844-3221) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the W a rd F u n e ra l H om e on S a tu rd a y , M a rch 9, 2 0 0 2 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Interment to take place at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens, Oakville, at a later date.
