This event will be start ing at 7:30 p.m., and will include a mixed soccer tournament, door prizes, silent auction, live music courtesy o f the band Danforth, and even special trophies for the winning team. The proceeds o f this event will go to supporting the Brain Tumour Foundation o f C anada's mission to reach every Canadian affected by brain tumours through support, education and informa tion, and to fund brain tumour research. Kicks for Charity is held in m em ory o f Cathleen A nne B ridge, m issed dearly by her friends and fam ily since November 2002. The intention o f this charity event is to be fun and upbeat. Going bald for cancer A fundraising event is being held at noon tom orrow at Dana Corporation's Long M anufacturing at 656 K err St., to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. Joanne Bailey, an engineer at Long M anufacturing is prepared to lose her w aist-length hair starting at 12:15 p.m. D epending on how much cash she can raise, she will be having her long thick hair cut off. She will donate it to be made into a wig for a child who has lost their own hair from cancer treat ment. The more cash is raised the m ore hair will com e off. Bailey is prepared to go totally bald if enough donations are made. At $30 an inch, she's not being too dem anding either and with w hat has been raised so far, it's certain she is going to lose it all.
