She was predeceased by her loving husband Greg (2006) and son Scott (1985). Diana was a woman of faith combined with action. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and Christ Our King in Mississauga. Diana was devoted to family and friends. Her passions included writing and printing Braille books, organizing volunteers, volunteering at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, as well as enjoying bridge games, euchre and reading. She enjoyed traveling with Greg and family. Many people valued Diana as a friend. While Diana had outlived many loved ones and family, she will be missed by those she befriended. She had a rare beauty and warm smile. Diana enjoyed being of service to others. Diana was the mother of Kathryn (Sacramento) and Christopher (Grimsby). She was the proud grandmother of five and great grandmother of five. Diana grew up in Toronto. She is survived by her sister Rita Hara. Other siblings have departed: Molly Brown, Gordon, Malcolm and Peter. She loved being close to her Toronto family. Our thanks to Sara, Elsie, and the Waterford. The family is requesting no flowers. BBB/Visa/MC *No Sub-Contracting STEPHENS, Margaret Elizabeth (nee Catterson) July 1, 1952 - Montreal, Quebec August 24, 2014 - Calgary, Alberta Margaret passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the age of 62 years after a long illness. She leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, Andrew; her children Eric of New York City and Patricia of Ottawa, and her sister Joan Catterson of Ottawa. She was predeceased by her mother Dorothy Annette Catterson in 2009 and her father William Manson Catterson in 1993. Margaret was born in Montreal, Quebec, and grew up in Oakville, Ontario. She attended the University of Toronto, obtaining both her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration degrees. She began her career at the University of Waterloo as a systems analyst. Over the next ten years she worked at BC Hydro, and Foothills Hospital and Home Oil in Calgary in a variety of increasingly responsible positions in the Information Systems field. Subsequently, she chose to end her professional career and devote her time to her family. She loved music, taking piano and French horn lessons, and through her life was a proud member of the Ontario Youth, Oakville Citizens, Mississauga, Foothills, and Rocky Mountain Concert Bands. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Ward Funeral Home (109 Reynolds St, Oakville, ON) on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. A Celebration of Margaret's Life will be held at Ward Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m, followed by a reception. All friends and associates are invited to come and share memories. A Celebration of Life was held in Calgary, Ontario, on Thursday, August 28 2014 for relatives and friends in Western Canada. Jim will be dearly missed by his children Blair Heaps (Candy) of Pinawa, MB and Brenda Chisamore (Darcy) of Burlington, Ontario; grandchildren Jessica, Ainsley, Troy and Jason; great-grandchildren Ariana, Ava and Taylor. Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Rita in 2010 and his brother, Bill in 1990. Survived by sisters-in-law Connie Heaps and Audrey Steven, and several nieces and nephews. Jim was born in Canora, SK on June 10, 1928, the second son of Ken and Effie Heaps. Ken was a CNR station agent and as a result they moved often. It was while living in Grandview, MB that Dad met the love of his life Rita and they were married on June 10, 1949. Jim began his career at CNR in 1946 in Grandview as a telegraph operator. After many postings in MB and SK, Jim and Rita settled in Winnipeg where their children were born. As was common with railway families of that generation, Mom and Dad moved often living in Saskatoon, The Pas, Dauphin, London, ON, Toronto, Moncton NB and then back to Toronto in 1973. Dad retired in 1988 and they remained in Oakville, ON. Dad moved to Tansley Woods Retirement Community in Burlington in 2013 to be closer to Brenda and Darcy. Jim had many interests over the years including years of dedicated service in the Shriners, golf, photography, and The Morse Telegraph Club. A special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at Tansley Woods and the Oakville Hospital. Memorial service will be held at Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, on Wednesday, August 27, with visitation at 12:30 pm, followed by a service at 1:00 pm, with reception to follow. MASON, Steve Passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2014 surrounded by his loving family including Snowball. Dear husband of Brenda. Proud and loving father of Sarah and Jennifer. Son of Reg and Eleanor and brother to Dave and Sharon. Steve endured a lifetime of illness but never gave up fighting for another day. Very special appreciation to Dr. Sapir who was always there to care for Steve and to the dedicated Dialysis staff who became Steves' extended family. Thanks to the wonderful nursing staff on 2 east and 3 east. A celebration of Steves life will be held at a later date.
