Devoted wife of the late Ernie Jesshope (2005) and much loved Mum of Sandy Sullivan (Tim); Karen Dean (Gary) and Deb Cushing (Richard). She will be loved and remembered by her grandchildren: Tim (Linda), Meghan and Peter (Cathy) Sullivan; Jennifer Burns (Rob), Adam Dean (Sarah), Beth Wilkinson (Jesse), Dana Cushing and Dann Cushing (Alanna) and many great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters, Peg Harris (PEI) and Katie Gray (Sutton). Predeceased by siblings Jack Bates, Mary Burns, Elsie Mackey and Bill Bates. Born in Toronto, in 1925, Betty was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Bates of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Betty was a former executive secretary for the North York Board of Education. Since 2006, she has been a resident of the Oakville Senior Citizens' Residence (OSCR), in Oakville. The family wishes to thank Dr. Farid Massoud of OTMH and Dr. Christina Castura for their care of Betty, as well as, Doreen Powers, Kim Doerffer and Nadia Lowe of OSCR, for their love and support over the past weeks.
