He was predeceased by his wife June in 2004. He will be much missed by his daughter Lori, his son John, his son-in-law Andre and his grandchildren Jeff and Carla. He will also be missed by his extended family; including Gladys, Ches, Henry, Bob, Janice, Matthew, Jordan, Michael, Bryan, and Zena the cat. Hal was born on September 15, 1921, near Drumheller, Alberta. He had one sister and three brothers. He spent much of his life in Toronto, Oakville and Burlington. Until his retirement, he owned and operated his own business. Hal was an extremely positive, friendly, independent person. Until his final illness, he lived in his own apartment, went for walks almost daily, and managed his own cooking, housekeeping, etc. He read the paper from cover to cover, keeping well abreast of world events. Hal was loved for his corny sense of humour, his loyalty to the Blue Jays, and his enjoyment of good food, especially desserts.
