Playground fire suspected arson by Michael Gregory Oakville Beaver Staff 3 | Thursday, November 27, 2014 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com The Oakville Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire -- believed possibly to be arson -- at a YMCA playground at the rear of River Oaks Public School that occurred Sunday evening. The fire department dispatched two trucks to the playground on Munns Avenue, near Neyagawa Boulevard and Upper Middle Road West, shortly after 9 p.m. Police said a resident called to report the fire. Oakville's Deputy Fire Chief Andy Glynn said the cause of the fire is still undetermined but said it's believed it could be a case of arson. A tunnel on the playground appeared to be the only area damaged by the blaze and representatives of the YMCA said it's not yet known show much the part would cost to replace. Police said there is currently no suspect description and the investigation is ongoing.
