Proceeds raised during the fundraiser will stay in the regions of Hamilton and Halton and support individuals with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia, their family and care partners. The following events are taking place in 2015: · Saturday, Jan. 24 -- McMaster University's David Braley Athletic Centre Indoor Track, Hamilton, five-kilometre run, new chip-timed event, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; family walk from 12:30-3 p.m. · Sunday, Jan. 25 -- Milton Mall Walk, 55 Ontario St. S., Milton, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. · Sunday, Feb. 8 -- Walk for Memories, Royal Botanical Gardens, 680 Plains Rd. Organizers note the McMaster 5K Run has a required $40 registration fee. New Year's Levee set for Jan. 4 Oakville residents are invited by Mayor Rob Burton and council to attend the annual New Year's Levee at Town Hall this weekend. The family event is slated to take place Sunday (Jan. 4), from 1-3 p.m., in the South Atrium of Town Hall at 1225 Trafalgar Rd. Light refreshments will be served as residents have the opportunity to mingle with neighbours and council. "Council and I enjoy connecting with residents and the levee gives us our first chance of the new year to be in touch with each other," said Burton.
