34 - The Oakville Beaver, Friday A ugust 8, 2003 NFC and OVFL playoff football on tap this weekend The Oakville Longhorns will host a Northern Football Conference (NFC) semifinal game this Saturday at Bronte Athletic Park, 6 p.m., against Oshawa Hawkeyes, the lowest survivor of last weekend's'quarterfmal games. The Longhorns have won the last 10 NFC championships and the last three Canadian Senior Football League titles. This year, they completed their third straight perfect regular season and their 38th straight win. H A L T O N IN V IC T A S The Halton Invictas play in Wentworth at McCrae Field against the Hamilton Ironmen in an Ontario Varsity Football League semifinal game this Sunday (Aug. 10) at 6 p.m. The winner of this game advances to the OVFL championship at University Stadium in Waterloo, on Sat. Aug. 16. Cru hosts Highland Ont. Cup games The O akville Crusaders first team fin ished out the first half o f the season in first place after defeating Toronto Irish 33-12 last Thursday night. The Cru kick off the second half o f the rugby season this Saturday as the club hosts Highland. The first side plays 3 p.m ., as usual and are preceded by the seconds at 1:30 p.m. and thirds at noon.
