Man dead after single-vehicle crash on Lakeshore A 60-year-old Oakville man is dead after a singlevehicle crash on Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line Wednesday night. Just before 9:30 p.m., Halton police were called to the scene where a minivan had left the road on the south side of Lakeshore and struck a hydro pole. The van came to rest in a snowbank a short distance away from the broken pole. The driver of the minivan was rushed to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) where he was pronounced dead a short time after arriving at the hospital. The cause of death is under investigation as it is unknown if the fatality was caused by a medical condition or as a result of the collision. Neither speed nor alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision, said police. Hydro crews attended the intersection for the downed hydro lines. Halton police's Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and took over the investigation. The intersection at Lakeshore and Fourth Line was closed for approximately three hours for investigation and hydro line repair. Any witnesses of the collision are asked to contact the Halton Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit by calling 905-8254747, ext. 5065. 13 | Friday, February 6, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Ready to buy a New Car?
