Part of the Dan Cooper concert series, 2014 Juno nominee Alysha Brilla will be performing in the Studio Theatre Saturday (March 28). Brilla is an acclaimed Tanzanian-Canadian singer, songwriter and producer. She plays guitar, the piano and djembe (African drum), and her music has been featured on TV shows, such as King and Degrassi: the Next Generation. Sheridan students' artworks on display Sheridan College's Bachelor of Illustration students will showcase their work during a twoday event at Towne Square Gallery. The event is NSAI Toronto chapter's round to present an array of diverse performances. Legendary songwriters from Nashville, Tenn., will be heading up north to perform, as well as more than 40 local music artists. "It has an amazing line up for the evening and looks to be a packed house again," said host Paul Malysa, who will also be performing that night. "To get a feel for the event, you must come out for an amazing line up of talent. It will be a night to not forget." The showcase starts at 7:30 p.m. at the 137 Kerr St. café. Last OSO mini-concert of 2014-15 season The Oakville Symphony Orchestra (OSO) is presenting its last mini-concert of its 2014-15 season Saturday (March 28). The Meet A Singer concert will feature mezzo-soprano Wendy Hatala-Foley with accompaniment by Christopher Foley. There will be two performances at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., held in the lobby of the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, 130 Navy St. The concert is part of the OSO Young People's series of free mini-concerts for all ages, but especially for participants aged four to nine.
