The Ridge bow out in close semifinal last weekend Iroquois Ridge High School contin ued its strong play this season, losing in the semifinals of its own Blazer Bash tournament in Oakville on the weekend. The score was tied with 3:50 left in the fourth quarter when Ridge went cold and could not score down the stretch to lose 67-55 to Dunbarton High School (Pickering). Ridge was led all weekend by Haijeev Brar who netted 19 in Ridge's opening night 42-28 win over RS McLaughlin and Brar led all scorers with 20 in a 67-55 loss to Dunbarton. In ju nior play, Iroquois Ridge won all three games to claim the ju nior crown. The Rangers closed November with a streaky 5-3-record, an improvement over October, winning five in a row then losing three real tough one-goal veYdicts. Here's a recap: Georgetown 3, OAKVILLE 2 (Nov. 26): Oakville had an early 1-0 lead but Georgetown scored three straight. Oakville goals were scored by Chris Germano and Carson Barnes. Assists went to Jason Carlucci, Michael Beaudry, Andrew Kwast, Michael Blake. Stone Creek 4, OAKVILLE 3 (Nov. 24): tough loss for Oakville with Stoney Creek tying the game with five minutes left and then winning it with 30 seconds left. Goals were scored by Michael Blake, Michael Beaudry and Carson Barnes. The lone assist was nabbed by Jeremy Heersink. Ancaster 1, OAKVILLE 0 (Nov. 21): a heartbreaker with Ancaster scoring with two seconds left. OAKVILLE 4. Brampton 2 (Nov. 19): Oakville shook off an early 1-0 deficit on goals by Michael Wood, Chris Germano. Ryan Runciman and Michael Blake. Assists went to Ryan Runciman.Tim Haley, Jeremy Heersink and Michael Beaudry. OAKVILLE 12, Guelph 0 (Nov. 16): Dan French earned the shutout. Goals were scored by Tim Haley (4). Michael Beaudry (2). Accurate pass ing by Will Maich earned him an assist. Dependable, hard-working Rangers forward Carson Dixon was named player of the game. OAKVILLE 1, Burlington 1 (Nov. 19): great defensive plays were made by Connor Andersen and Matthew Capern. Outstanding forward Chris Gregor scored the team's only goal, from Erik Matson and Matthew Capern. Sam Binnington, was named player of the game. Dundas 2, OAKVILLE 0 (Nov. 22): a late night road game in Dundas, slowed the Rangers down in a disappointing loss for the team. AP defenceman Connor McMahon was a tremendous help to the team and played great positional hockey. Great efforts were made by forward Matthew Flahive and goaltender Harry Lewis. OAKVILLE 2, Dundas 2 (Nov. 28): back home in Oakville, the Rangers were solid in a spirited, intense game. Ranger goals were scored by the mighty Tim Berberian and Chris Gregor. Assists to Chris Gregor, Chris Capizzano, Erik Matson and Tim Berberian. Superb goaltending by Eric Mulligan earned him player of the game. Smoothskating, Francois Cote and Sam Binnington were recognized for their outstanding play. OAKVILLE 2, Hespeler 0 (Dec. 1): consistent, hard-work ing Erik Matson scored the first goal and Zack Mulvale followed up with a spectacular goal, that earned him the play of the game. Chris Gregor had an assist in the game. Hard-shooting, defenceman Graham Copeland was named player of the game. With tremendous help from defencemen Jonathon Bertrand and Jack Chappie, outstanding Ranger goalies Eric Mulligan and Harry Lewis, shared the home ice shutout. The Ranger goaltending duties were shared by the dynamic duo of Connor Challis and Sean Perichak. both of whom were solid between the pipes. OAKVILLE 2, Burlington 2: a well played, tight checking game. OAKVILLE 3, Ancaster 0: Sean Perichak and Connor Challis combined for the shutout. The entire team played well, particularly the defensive corps of Oliver Chiang, Jesse Taylor, Rocky Furfari, Austin Kosack. Greg Campbell and Brenton Chilton. Burlington 4, OAKVILLE 1.
