Lovell, who lives in Waterloo, has developed an array of ambitious not-for-profit projects that foster youth engagement and leadership development across Canada, organizers say. "Youth are not the leaders of tomorrow. We are the leaders of today," Lovell said. "We are innovators, creators and entrepreneurs at heart." Organized by HIEC, this year's breakfast event focuses on students. Those attending will also hear directly from several young people about their success stories through mentorship, experiential learning, innovation and collaboration. The breakfast also wraps up HIEC's 25th anniversary celebration of programs and initiatives. Lovell is also recognized as one of Canada's Top 20 Under 20. With her `Kelly Effect,' she has been involved in building schools in Africa to mobilizing volunteerism projects and serving as a National Youth Delegate on leadership platforms.
