And she has her pick of five, some with scholarships, so the decision is all the weightier for the accomplished ballet dancer and pianist. "It's been a little bit stressful," Loeb, 17, admitted, before heading, with her mother Andrea, to check out the campus of Western University in London Tuesday (May 26) afternoon. "I have to decide by Monday (June 1). I still haven't made up my mind." Full scholarship at Western Western has offered her its most valuable entrance scholarship -- the National President's Scholarship worth $65,000 -- to attend either its Medical Science or Kinesiology program. "That's about a full scholarship," said Loeb. Good news from York While being interviewed, her mother interrupted with some more good news -- she had just received a letter of acceptance from York University, providing her with a $21,600 scholarship. "I guess I have five schools to choose from now," said Loeb, who will graduate with a 97.4 "I loved the Columbia campus. It's located on the northwest side of Central Park in Manhattan," Loeb said. "New York is one of my favourite cities, but it costs about $67,000 a year to go there... It was my original dream to go to school there. "I've heard it's a pretty tough school with high competition. It's supposed to be a stressful atmosphere." Columbia is calling Loeb received an early acceptance to Columbia in the fall to study Evolutionary Biology or Biology. Its deadline was May 1 but she paid a $500 deposit to keep her spot and options open just in case she decides that's where she wants to go. "It's still there for me," she said. This year Columbia's acceptance rate was 6.7 per cent, the lowest in years, Andrea said. Ottawa's medical studies program is a French Immersion program. Loeb said she loves the French language and her father is from Québec, but she's a bit concerned about being taught approximately half of her medical science courses in French.
