The power-pop band is playing at Lourice, 1289 Marlborough Ct., and the show will also feature performances by Look Here Junior and Casper Skulls. Songwriter Laj (short for Lajeunesse), was born and raised in Kirkland Lake, a rural gold-mining camp six hours north of Toronto. `Heartfelt' songs in power pop genre Having toured the country and playing any stage he can find, his "heartfelt songs seamlessly meld together elements of rock, folk, and country, without straying too far from the power-pop roots that give the tunes a certain joie de vivre, with nods to tunesmiths like Nick Lowe and Paul Westerberg," stated a media release. Domee Shi is one of the film's story artists, while Guillaume Chartier is an animator for the movie. Both graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Arts Animation from Sheridan. Originally from Toronto, Shi joined the Pixar team in 2011 and worked as a story artist for two and half years on Inside Out. Chartier, a Laval/ Montreal native, joined Pixar in 2008. Held earlier in May, the competition saw more than 13,000 professional stylists from Sport Clips locations across Canada and the U.S. try out for the competition with six selected to compete in the finals. Parker won a $2,500 cash prize and hairstyling tools. "I was overwhelmed, super excited and thankful of all the support I had to make this all possible," said Parker, of winning the competition. "I didn't just have a city behind me I had a whole country cheering me on... I'm still on a high from winning -- the love and support is still going."
