Brown, who works at a law firm when not on the ice, was quick to heap praise on the defence w hich did a great jo b in clearing out the rebounds. "They were fabulous, and I didn't have to make a lot o f second saves which makes my life a lot easier," she said. "Against the Aeros, you have to move all the time, and I just happened to be at the right place 'a t the right time to block their shots." Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Ice Bears came within a hair of being the victims of Durham TELUS Lightning's first win of the year, scraping out an improbable 4-3 overtime win. The hero for the Ice Bears was Sara Bauer who scored with one second left in regulation time to tie the game up at 3-3 and then scored the overtime winner.
