The free all-day family festival runs from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and features musical performances on multiple stages; a vendor village offering food and merchandise; and a reworks display at dusk from a barge on Lake Ontario. There is lots for the kids to do with a Frozen Ice Queen and Princess Show at 11 a.m. and a meet-and-greet at 1 p.m. There will also be bouncy castles and a mini golf course. Free shuttle buses will run from 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m. from the Burloak RioCAN Centre to Bronte Village. The last departure from the RioCAN Centre to the reworks show is at 9:15 p.m. The more than 200 merchants of the Bronte Village Business Improvement Area are joining the Town of Oakville, Heritage Canada in hosting Oakville's Canada Day. The annual festival, hosted by the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar (RCOT), of cially opens today (Friday) at 4 p.m. at the Sheridan College grounds, 1430 Trafalgar Rd. Festivities continue throughout the weekend -- tomorrow (Saturday) from 11 a.m.-11 p.m., and Sunday (June 28), 11 a.m.-7 p.m. "People love the fact it's a family event... there's so much for families to do and I think that's what they're looking for," Ribfest chair Trish Peden told the Oakville Beaver. "It's that type of event where there's something for Oakey everybody.
