Loved grandmother of Jessalyn (Brandon), Curtis (Michelle), David and Rebecca. Maureen is survived by her sisters Joan (Ron), Margaret, Elizabeth and brother Andy. BRANT, William Frederick James June 1, 1914 - July 24, 2015 Age 101 and (almost) 2 months Bill, as he was affectionately known, passed peacefully in his sleep from this world into the loving hands of our Merciful Lord at 5:20 a.m. on July 24th in Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home in Burlington, Ontario. Bill survived two World Wars and immigrated to Canada, from Great Britain with his beloved wife Lilian in 1974. In 1989 he was honored by HM the Queen, with the award of Serving Brother for his outstanding devotion to The Order of St. John of Jerusalem in the UK and Canada. He chose to receive the award from the Governor General of Canada Madam Sauvé - on behalf of her Majesty in Ottawa, Canada. Bill is predeceased by his beloved wife Lilian, at the age of 93, one infant son Terrence and his daughter-in-law Beryl. He is survived by his two sons Robert of Sweden and Tony of the USA, his five grandchildren, Janet, Kevin, Trevor, Annika and Jill living in Canada, Sweden and the UK. Bill is also survived by ten greatgrandchildren and one great greatgrandchild. He was well loved and liked by all who met and socialized with him. He will be sadly missed by us all, but he was well quoted "If you can't be good, be careful" was his favorite. Friends will be received at the GLEN OAKS FUNERAL HOME, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 10-11 a.m. when a service will take place in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
