With an Oct. 19 federal election in the offing, three all-candidates meetings have been set for the Oakville and Oakville North-Burlington ridings. Oakville Chamber all-candidates' meeting The Oakville Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with TVCOGECO, the Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board, and Glen Abbey United Church, will host a federal candidates' debate for the Oakville and Oakville North-Burlington ridings on Tuesday, Oct. 6. It will take place from 6:30-9 p.m. at Glen Abbey United Church, 1469 Nottinghill Gate -- and will be telecast live by TVCOGECO. The Chamber will solicit questions from its members, the Ontario and Canadian chambers of All-candidates' meetings set for federal candidates commerce, and the public. Skateboard park on the move through town The YMCA is partnering with the Town of Oakville and others to bring a movable skateboard park to various locations for local youths to enjoy. The park, which is towed from one location to the other, will be located at Kerr Street Mission, 485 Kerr St., from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 15. Tomorrow (Saturday) and Aug. 29, the park will be at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, 2302 Bridge Rd., from 1-4 p.m. On Aug. 22, it will make an appearance at Clearview Community Church, 2300 Sheridan Garden Dr., from 1-4 p.m. All locations are weather permitting. Youths can bring their own skateboards or scooters, or borrow a skateboard. Helmets are required at all times on the skate park.
